With the help of the Local Government and the Tourism office of Porac, PELCO II successfully concluded the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita on May 31, 2024 coinciding with their monthly Market Day celebration in front of the Municipal Hall in Barangay Poblacion, Porac. Around 20 farmers and vendors participated, with many residents, municipal employees, and Coop members showing their support by purchasing fresh produce at reasonable prices and offering breakfast to the vendors. Among the vendors were Aeta people who came down from the upland community of Porac, bringing with them vegetables, bananas, and fruits to sell.
The goal of the program is to strengthen the agricultural sector in partnership with the Coop and the Local Government. It emphasizes fostering unity and cooperation between farmers and Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) through the direct sale of their produce to consumers, ensuring that the income generated is fair and just for those working in agriculture.
